HOUSTON, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Nearly half of new coronavirus cases reported Monday in the U.S. state of Louisiana were contracted by people under the age of 30, the state health department said.

According to the official figure, among the 845 newly reported cases Monday, 46 percent were among people aged 29 or younger.

He tweeted, "96 percent of today's reported cases are associated with community spread, rather than congregate settings ... It's on all of us to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana."
