LIMA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Peru reported 3,481 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, taking the national tally to 299,080, said the Health Ministry on Saturday.

The death toll from COVID-19 in the country climbed to 10,412, said the ministry, adding that a total of 11,273 hospital admissions were recorded.

The government has so far extended the national state of emergency until July 31, but has lifted restrictive quarantine and curfew measures in all but 7 regions of the country.

Social isolation will continue to be mandatory, however, for children under 14 and adults over 65.

Meanwhile, restrictions continue as well on domestic travel, specifically from the capital of Lima to cities in the interior of the country, and the borders with Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, and Chile will also remain closed. Enditem
