5 imported COVID-19 cases recorded in Myanmar

YANGON, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The total number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar has risen to 336, with five more confirmed cases on Monday, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

According to the ministry, the newly confirmed cases are returnees who were under quarantine after their recent arrivals from Thailand and Bangladesh.

As of Monday, a total of 94,168 samples were tested for COVID-19 and 6,349 patients are under quarantine, the ministry's figures said.

According to the ministry, 261 patients have recovered from the disease so far.

Myanmar reported its first two positive cases of COVID-19 on March 23 and six deaths have been reported so far. Enditem
