JAKARTA, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 1,591 within one day to 78,572, with the death toll adding by 54 to 3,710, a Health Ministry official said on Tuesday.
According to Achmad Yurianto, 947 more people had been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 37,636.
Within the past 24 hours, eight provinces, namely North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Bali, and South Sulawesi, recorded high numbers of cases, he said.
No more positive cases were found in five provinces, Lampung, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku.
Yurianto called on the public to obey the health protocols to avoid more COVID-19 infections. Enditem
