COVID-19 death toll in Jordan rises to 11

AMMAN, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Saturday reported one death of a 70-year-old woman, and five new COVID-19 cases in the country.

With the new death, the total number of coronavirus deaths in Jordan rose to 11, and total infections rose to 1,214, according to a statement by the Jordanian Health Ministry.

The ministry added that a total of 7,155 virus tests were conducted on Saturday, bringing the overall number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 507,217.

Also, the ministry has renewed its call on citizens to abide by precautionary measures, mainly wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing.
