The year 2020 was designated as the China-ASEAN Year of Digital Economy Cooperation. China and ASEAN will expand cooperation in 5G, Internet of things, AI, industrial internet and digital epidemic prevention. Also, the COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted the importance of digital economy in economic recovery, job creation and improving people's well-being.
