Afghanistan reports 106 new COVID-19 cases, 36,263 in total

KABUL, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan on Monday reported 106 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, taking the country's total to 36,263, the country's Ministry of Public Health said.

"Within the past 24 hours, 471 tests were conducted, and 106 were positive COVID-19 cases in 11 provinces of Afghanistan's 34 provinces," the ministry said in a statement.

Up to 1,269 deaths have been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in February, an increase of 10 within the past 24 hours.

Out of the total infected people, 25,198 have recovered, including 18 who showed improvement and were discharged from hospitals since early Sunday.

The laboratories across Afghanistan have completed 87,378 tests since February. Enditem
