FUZHOU, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Eastern China's Fuzhou has demanded a "wartime" preparedness after an asymptomatic COVID-19 case from Dalian, where new clusters have been reported, reportedly visited several crowded venues in the city.

The city's COVID-19 prevention and control authorities said on Tuesday they had ordered all districts and counties to be prepared like in wartime, and to defend local communities with "the most decisive measures."

The capital city of Fujian Province on Saturday reported one asymptomatic case -- a 43-year-old man who arrived from Dalian in northeast China's Liaoning Province.

The man had used public transportation to visit a number of parks, eateries and a shopping mall between his arrival on July 18 and his visit to a hospital on July 25, according to the city's health commission.

Local health authorities have been tracing the asymptomatic carrier's contacts and collecting samples from places he visited. Members of the public have been advised to stay at home if their travel routes coincided with those of the man.

The city of Dalian reported six new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 12 new asymptomatic cases on Monday. Enditem
