Algeria's COVID-19 cases rise to 31,465

ALGIERS, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Algeria on Sunday reported 515 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases to 31,465 with 1,231 deaths.

Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad said that Algeria "will be among the first countries to acquire the anti-COVID-19 vaccine," the official APS news agency reported.

In a meeting held on Sunday to explore the market for anti-coronavirus vaccines, the prime minister said that his country has made contacts with some countries that have made progress in research for the production of the vaccine.
