HARARE, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwe recorded three COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, raising the country's death toll to 84.
All the deaths were of elderly people, two men and a woman and occurred in Bulawayo and Manicaland provinces, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said in a statement Thursday morning.
The country recorded 118 new cases of COVID-19, taking the country's total cases to 4,339.
Of the new cases, 117 are due to local transmission and only one is an imported case, a citizen who returned from South Africa.
A total of 26 recoveries were recorded, increasing the total number of recoveries in the country to 1,264 while active cases stand at 2,991.
The country has done a total of 142,219 COVID-19 tests to date. Enditem
