Malaysia reports 15 new COVID-19 cases

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported 15 new COVID-19 infections, the Health Ministry said on Thursday, bringing the national total to 9,038.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press briefing that five cases are imported and 10 more are local transmissions.

Another 11 cases have been released, bringing the total cured and discharged to 8,713 or 96.4 percent of all cases.

Of the remaining 200 active cases, two are being held in intensive care and one of those is in need of assisted breathing.

No new deaths have been reported, leaving the total deaths at 125. Enditem
