12.75 pct turnout after two days of early voting: Belarus CEC

MINSK, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Belarusian Central Election Commission (CEC) said Thursday 12.75 percent of eligible voters have cast their ballots after two days of early voting in the presidential elections.

The turnout in the Brest region stood at 11.26 percent, 12.16 percent in the Vitebsk region, 16.44 percent in the Gomel region, 10.01 percent in the Grodno region, 12.61 percent in the Minsk region, 14.61 percent in the Mogilev region and 11.73 percent in the city of Minsk, the CEC said on Thursday.

Early voting in the presidential elections is taking place on Aug. 4-8.

A total of 5,767 polling places have been set up for the 2020 presidential election, including 44 abroad.

The main voting day is Aug. 9. Enditem
