Vietnam reports 37 new COVID-19 cases, 784 in total

HANOI, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported 37 new cases of COVID-19 infection on Friday, bringing the total confirmed cases to 784, with 10 deaths from the disease so far, according to the country's Ministry of Health.

Two patients have recently entered Vietnam from abroad and being quarantined upon arrival, while the rest were recorded domestically in eight localities including central Da Nang city, Hanoi capital city, northern Hai Duong province, Ho Chi Minh City and central Thanh Hoa province, according to the ministry.

The new cases in the community are reportedly to have epidemiological history related to previous cases or caregivers at hospitals in the country.

Three more patients were recovered, raising the total cured cases in the country to 395, while there are nearly 178,500 people being quarantined and monitored in the country.

A number of sports competitions have been postponed under the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam News Agency cited the General Department of Sports and Physical Training as saying on Friday. Enditem
