SANTO DOMINGO, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Dominican Republic on Sunday reported a total of 79,732 novel coronavirus cases with 1,309 deaths.
The previous day saw 954 new cases of infection and 20 more fatalities, the country's Public Health Ministry said.
Of those diagnosed with the virus, 6,837 are hospitalized, 312 patients require intensive care, and 27,842 have been told to self-isolate at home.
So far 43,744 patients have recovered. Enditem
