HOHHOT, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, has allocated more than 1.5 billion yuan (about 217.5 million U.S. dollars) this year for the renovation of old urban residential communities in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The fund will be used for the renovation of 487 such communities, benefitting 60,307 households, according to the regional development and reform commission.

The move comes as part of government efforts in improving people's living environments and fulfilling basic needs like water, electricity, roads, and heating. Enditem
