BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Departments of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the central government have been urged to take the lead in practicing strict economy and reducing food waste.
The central Party and state institutions should curb food waste in their canteens, promote the "Clean Your Plate" campaign among staff, and strengthen the recycling of kitchen waste, according to an action plan issued by the Working Committee for Central Party and State Institutions under the CPC Central Committee, in collaboration with other departments.
The central Party and government agencies are required to strictly follow rules for organizing official receptions, said the document, stressing the enforcement of thrift and opposition of extravagance and waste. ■
