Palestine reports 536 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

GAZA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Palestine on Sunday recorded 536 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections in the Palestinian territories to 29,063 including 166 deaths and 19,479 recoveries.

The Palestinian health ministry also reported two new fatalities, a 68-year-old woman from the West Bank town of Beit Jala and an 88-year-old man from the town of Halhul.

Palestine currently has 9,418 active coronavirus cases, said Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila in a press statement.

According to the ministry statement, the rate of recovery in Palestine has reached 67 percent since March 5 while the death rate stands at 0.6 percent.
