German shares edge up Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 28.87 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 12,974.25 points.

European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.20 percent. Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies rose by 1.65 percent and 1.47 percent respectively.

Automotive supplier Continental lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.35 percent. Energy group RWE and chemical group BASF went down by 1.05 percent and 0.84 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 248.09 million euros (297.39 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 4.70 percent to close at 0.711 euros per share. Enditem
