BANGKOK, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Thai cabinet meeting has approved a budget of 883 million baht (28.2 million U.S. dollars) on Wednesday from the Central Fund for the Ministry of Defense to continue running the state quarantine accommodation as more Thais return from overseas in the midst of the global pandemic.
Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 22,470 Thais living or working abroad have applied to return to Thailand in July and August.
The newly acquired state quarantine fund will accommodate for up to 41,000 arrivals.
Returning Thais are waived from paying state quarantine fee.
However, non-Thais arriving in Thailand will have to pay for their own hotel quarantine fee. Enditem
