3 dead, 4 wounded after train hits car in Indonesia's East Java

JAKARTA, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and four others sustained injuries after a train hit a minivan in Indonesia's western province of East Java on Thursday, a police officer said.

The accident occurred when the minivan carrying seven people was passing a railroad crossing without bar gate and signals in Ngebruk village of Malang district, Malang District Police spokesman Bagus Wijanarko revealed.

When the vehicle was on the railway track, the train was passing from the east to the west, and the crash was unavoidable, he said.
