JERUSALEM, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Israel's Ministry of Health reported 3,038 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total number in the country to 148,564.
The death toll rose to 1,090, with 13 new fatalities, while the number of patients in serious condition remained unchanged at 486, out of 979 patients currently hospitalized.
The number of recoveries rose to 111,728, with 1,786 new ones, while the number of active cases increased to 35,740.
On Thursday night, Israel's Corona Cabinet has decided to impose full nationwide closure starting next week, following the abnormal rise in COVID-19 morbidity.
The closure is supposed to include the upcoming period of Jewish holidays, between the Jewish New Year's Eve on Sept. 18, and Oct. 10. Enditem
