Chongqing Lifan rout Qingdao Huanghai in Chinese Super League

SUZHOU, China, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chongqing Lifan beat Qingdao Huanghai 3-0 in the 11th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Wednesday.

Brazilian forward Alan Kardec was awarded a special jersey to commemorate his 100th CSL appearance in Chongqing before the match.

Both sides posed threats to the other, but no goals were scored in the first half. Chongqing once got a good chance to score in the stoppage time when Brazilian forward Fernandinho Silva was fouled by Cameroon midfielder Joseph Minala in the penalty area. After a VAR ruling, the referee finally canceled the penalty kick because of Fernandinho's handball.

Chongqing broke the deadlock in the 57th minute with a low drive from Fernandinho after he got a wonderful pass from Kardec to make it 1-0.

Chongqing enlarged the lead in the 65th minute when Fernandinho's pass was blocked by defender Shizhe's arm. After checking by VAR, the referee awarded Chongqing a penalty and Kardec made it 2-0.

Polish midfielder Adrian Mierzejewski scored Chongqing's third goal in the 71st minute, helping Chongqing to clinch a 3-0 victory over Qingdao.
