Kubuqi Desert in Inner Mongolia is China's 7th largest desert. It's once known as the "sea of death" difficult for birds to fly across. After more than 30 years of hard work, the desert has turned into a green valley. Several highways have been constructed through the desert, which greatly facilitate travel.
