TUNIS, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- In the presence of the 217 new members elected in the legislative election on Oct. 6, the first plenary session of the second term 2019-2024 of the new Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) started Wednesday at the Tunisian parliament headquarters.
The session began with a speech by Abdelfattah Mourou, outgoing president of the parliament .
He stressed the heavy responsibilities that await them, referring to the promulgation of the finance law and the discussion of the state budget for 2020, a year he described as "critical."
According to the outgoing president of the ARP, the parliament is a space for dialogue, discussion and difference.
"New deputies must work together in the service of the citizens who expect concrete achievements from them," he stressed.
