6.6-magnitude quake hits 52km E of Lakatoro, Vanuatu -- USGS

HONG KONG, July 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 jolted 52 km east of Lakatoro, Vanuatu, on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 167.0 km, was initially determined to be at 16.2 degrees south latitude and 167.9 degrees east longitude.
