IT’S no wonder Carla Bruni is comfortable standing around in a bikini.

    At the age of 45, she boasts the figure of a woman decades her junior – and her tiny choice of swimwear suggests she’s pretty chuffed with her body.

    The wife of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy showed no signs of shyness as she paraded her slender physique on rocks near St Tropez in the South of France.

    Politician Nicolas was nowhere to be seen as the Italian-French singer and ex-model enjoyed a day of swimming and soaking up rays with pals.

    At one point, she sat down to attach a pair of flippers to her feet as she geared up for a spell of snorkelling.

    The mum-of-two was last into the water, no doubt alarmed by the look of horror on her female friend’s face as she plunged into the cool sea.

    Carla – who gave birth to a girl, Giulia, in 2011 – returned to music this year with the release of her album Little French Songs.

    It peaked at No2 in her homeland but went entirely unnoticed in the UK.
