Looks like Smith Will return for Independence Day 2

    WILL Smith is in talks to star in Independence Day the sequel - despite originally refusing to take part.

    The 44-year-old actor initially said he wouldn't reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller but has had a change of heart the film's director Roland Emmerich has revealed.

    He said: “He didn’t want to do it at first. Now we have a meeting planned, we want to talk about it again. Anything can happen.

    Before the release of Smith’s latest film After Earth, Emmerich said he was “too expensive”, despite the original 1996 blockbuster raking in a whopping £500m worldwide.

    Original cast members Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum have already been confirmed for the sequel, which is set for release in 2015.
