BEIJING, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- The construction of the Universal Beijing Resort's main buildings has been completed, the resort said on Tuesday.
The resort will include the highly anticipated Universal Studios Beijing theme park, the Universal CityWalk and two hotels. Construction of the iconic globe model at the entrance of the park is expected to be completed by the end of September, said Xu Liping, vice president of the government affairs department of Beijing International Resort Co., Ltd.
The construction of the resort features innovative technologies and environmental protection. Building information modeling technology was utilized in the design of the parking building, and dust pollution has been avoided through effective measures.
The Universal Beijing Resort is set to be among representative enterprises in the tourism sector that will exhibit at the China International Fair for Trade in Services on Sept. 4, Xu said.
The resort will open its doors for trial operations in the spring of 2021. ■
