BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) - China's first foreign head coach of men's volleyball Raul Lucio Lozano claimed that his top priority in charge would be players' health.

Lozano, 60, was known as a strict and serious coach during his success with Spain, Poland, Germany and Iran.

"We now have two players who got injuries before joining the national team. We are planning to send them back to protect them."

Lozano summoned 18 players which most of them were young players.

"I have faith in my team. I believe that these young lads can achieve a qualitative leap forward during my stay here," said the Argentinian through a translator on his first media open day.

Lozano said that he faced three key obstacles here. First of all was the language. All of his staff couldn't speak Chinese. They can only communicate with the players through translators, body language and simple English words.

Tactics and techniques of the whole team needed to be rebuilt before the start of 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League next month.

"Chinese players got various techniques on attack but they are not that good on defense. We are working on building up an efficient defending system," said Lozano.
