KABUL, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Three Taliban militants including a shadow district governor, have been killed in the western Herat province over the past 24 hours, the Interior Ministry said in a statement released here on Monday.
"Crackdown on Taliban rebels in Herat province has left three insurgents dead including a shadowy governor for Keshk Kuhna district over the past 24 hours," the statement asserted.
Taliban outfit has yet to make comments on the subject.
The statement also said in the past 24 hours, Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have also launched a series of counter-terrorism operations in Nangarhar, Logar, Ghazni, Takhar and Paktika provinces to eliminate insurgents and stabilize law and order there.
