TIRANA, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Albania will send its first contingent of EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) to Latvia where it will join NATO's presence there, Albanian minister of defense Mimi Kodheli told reporters Wednesday.
Speaking at a ceremony held on occasion of sending the first contingent to Latvia, Kodheli said that after the NATO membership, the concept of collective defense has evolved perception of defense.
She said the Albanian soldiers who joined NATO's mission would give a contribution to defense and help guarantee the security of NATO ally countries in Eastern Europe.
Albania is part of the Canadian-led NATO battalion in Latvia, according to the Albanian defense ministry. Enditem
