Kopondo returns to Kenya rugby team for Africa Gold Cup

NAIROBI, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Wilson Kopondo has recovered from an injury and will help Kenya play against Tunisia in the in the Rugby Africa Gold Cup on July 8.

Kopondo, who will wear the captain's armband, was last in action during the 29-30 loss to Germany in May and Coach Jerome Paarwater from South Africa has viewed him as an asset and will throw him straight into the team for the challenge against the North Africans.

Kopondo will work together with George Nyambua, who makes his full test debut, after three appearances off the bench as does Leo Seje who will partner David Ambunya in the midfield.

There are four changes off the bench, Oscar Simiyu, Martin Owila, Dennis Muhanji and Lyle Asiligwa all included in the team as Paarwater's charges plot for Tunisia downfall.

Kenya Team: Tony Onyango, Darwin Mukidza, David Ambunya, Leo Seje, Jacob Ojee, Isaac Adimo, Sam Onsomu, Moses Amusala, Peter Karia, Dennis Karani, Wilson Kopondo (captain), George Nyambua, Eric Kerre, Davis Chenge, Joshua Chisanga.
