CAIRO, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visited Egypt on Saturday for talks with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Palestinian issues, state news agency MENA reported.
During the two-day visit, Abbas will discuss with Sisi the developments of the conditions in the Palestinian territories, particularly Israeli settlement escalation, said Palestine's Ambassador in Cairo Jamal Al-Shobaki.
The two will also discuss the Palestinian-Israel issue based on the two-state solution, said the ambassador, praising Egypt's role and support for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The Palestinian president is welcomed by Egypt's Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker upon arrival in the capital Cairo.
