Yonnatta Monsalve wins Tour of Qinghai Lake 2017

YINCHUAN, China, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Yonnatta Monsalve from China's Qinghai Tianyoude Cycling Team (TYD) won the Tour of Qinghai Lake 2017 after the last and 13th stage concluded in Zhongwei on Saturday.

Monsalve timed in 41 hours, 19 minutes and 30 seconds for the yellow jersey.

Yevgeniy Gidichi from Kazakhstan's Vino-Astana Motors (VAM) claimed the victory of the 13th stage which covered a distance of 111 kilometers, with the average altitude of 1,220 meters.

Orken Ahmet from Turkey's Torku Sekerspor (TRK) and Meron Teshome from Germany's Bike Aid (BAI) finished second and third respectively in the stage.

Gidichi also won the blue jersey as the Best Asian Rider, Ahmet kept the green jersey, leading the General Points Classification, and the polka dot jersey, representing Best Climber, was taken by Ortega Ramirez from Chinese Taipei's RTS-Monton Racing Team (RTS).

Kuwait's Kuwait-Cartucho.Es (KWC) was the overall team winner, and the Best Asian Team went to Kazakhstan's Vino-Astana Motors (VAM).

The Tour of Qinghai Lake 2017 ran for 13 stages within 14 days for a total distance of 3,347 kilometers, including 2,042km race distance and 1,305km transfer distance.
