JAKARTA, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has been upbeat over a top rank target in the SEA Games in Malaysia this month.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo set the target on Monday as the country had been the first of the regional event several times.

"How many times have we got the victory? Ten times. Make it eleven, it will be better," President Widodo said after a ceremony for the departure of Indonesian athletes to Malaysia.

"This is a stepping stone for preparation for Asian Games," he added.

The 29th SEA Games is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur from Aug. 19 to 30. Indonesia will host Asian Games in 2018.

Indonesia has set a 47-gold target at the SEA Games, according to coordinating minister for human development and culture affairs Puan Maharani.

The country sent a total of 534 athletes to compete in the event, she said.

The SEA Games will feature 38 sports with 405 gold, 405 silver and 529 bronze medals up for grab.
