KHOST, Afghanistan, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Torrential rains triggered heavy floods, leaving at least two people including a child dead in Afghanistan eastern province of Khost, an official said Wednesday.
"The floods ripped into Zorgot area of Musa Khil district of the province, late on last night, resulting in the death of two people, including a 13-year-old boy," district governor Gulab Mangal Musakhil told Xinhua on Wednesday.
According to the official, the floods had also washed out harvests on up to 500 acres of farmlands, destroyed gardens and shops and perished dozens of livestock in the district.
