XIAMEN, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Leaders attending the ninth BRICS summit have reached extensive consensus on international situation, global governance and BRICS cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping told reporters Tuesday at the end of the three-day event.

The summit adopted the BRICS Leaders Xiamen Declaration which reaffirmed the BRICS spirit of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, and mapped out a new blueprint for strengthening BRICS partnership and deepening practical cooperation in various areas, Xi said.

During the summit in southeastern Chinese city of Xiamen, China also held the Dialogue of Emerging Market and Developing Countries, in which leaders of Egypt, Mexico, Thailand, Tajikistan and Guinea joined the BRICS leaders, agreed to forge broadly based partnership and step up implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to promote common development of all countries, he said.
