DHAKA, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A center dedicated to the study of Bangladesh-China affairs has been launched at Dhaka University, the oldest and most prestigious university of Bangladesh.
A ceremony was held at the university Wednesday night, attended by officials from China's Yunnan provincial government and Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzamanand, among others.
A large number of Dhaka University Confucius Institute students also joined the ceremony.
A photo exhibition featuring many memorable moments of Bangladesh-China relations was organized at the ceremony.
Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman said the center will focus on key areas in Bangladesh-China relationship in need of strengthened mutual understanding.
He said they will also identify areas for study to further boost bilateral cooperation in regional and international issues.
