BANGKOK, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 China Books Exhibition Sales officially started at Nanmee Books House in Bangkok on Tuesday, bringing more than 1,000 Chinese books in both English and Thai language to readers of the kingdom.

Some 1,500 books, 70 percent of which are in Thai and English, are showcased from Tuesday to Oct. 10.

The books, covering Chinese politics, economy, and cultures, are expected to help the readers to know and understand China better.

Books, with human wisdom in them, are important media to achieve people-to-people bond, which is an important part of Belt and Road Initiative that boosts cooperation, said Lan Suhong, cultural counselor of the Chinese embassy in Thailand, during the opening ceremony.

"We brought so many books in English and Thai language because we want our readers to understand China better, especially China's political, economic and cultural achievements during its reform," said Zhang Jicheng, General Manager of China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation.

We hope Thai readers can understand China thoroughly by reading these books to boost our people-to-people exchange, said Preyanee Suputhiponge, Executive Director of Nan Mee Co.,Ltd.
