2017 China-ASEAN Mountain Marathon to kick off in November

NANNING, China, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 China-ASEAN Mountain Marathon will start in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Nov. 5.

The organizers expect over 1,000 elite runners will participate in the event.

The marathon will take place in Mashan, a mountainous county in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi, and it will be the second edition since the first one was held in 2016.

The runners will be divided into three groups, namely the full marathon, half marathon and an 8-kilometer match designed for amateur runners.

Mashan is renowned for its beautiful Karst lanscape, and the athletes will enjoy the mountain views of the Nongla scenic spot, a place which is known as "Shangri-la in Karst area". The road of the marathon was also recognized as one of the most beautiful routes in China.
