AMMAN, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Mulki called on Sunday for the empowerment of youth to fight terrorism, as the young people could play a key role in the battle against terrorism, state-run Petra news agency reported.

At the opening of the 14th meeting of the Arab Youth, the prime minister said that fighting terrorism was not only through military operations, but also on ideological level.

It was vital to protect young people from being influenced by the propaganda of terrorism and extremism, he stressed.
