TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Armenia have agreed to boost mutual ties in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, Financial Tribune daily reported on Saturday.
The agreement was reached in a meeting between Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi and his Armenian counterpart Vahan Martirosyan, on the sidelines of a state visit to Tehran by Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan last week.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed joint programs for the establishment of data centers.
"Bilateral ties in the fields of data transit, cyber security and postal services are to be strengthened," Jahromi was quoted as saying.
The two sides will also work together to found business conventions and ICT related marketplaces, according to Martirosyan.
