AMMAN, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Wednesday rejected as "groundless" reports saying that Royal Court President Fayez Tarawneh visited Syria and met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Tarawneh has no plans to visit Syria and that he is currently accompanying King Abdullah II of Jordan during a visit to Kazakhstan, said an unnamed official.
A local news website published reports saying that Tarawneh visited Damascus and conveyed a message from the king to Assad.
The website later explained that it was hacked and that the new articles were published by the hackers.
