State Council appoints, removes officials

BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of three senior officials Thursday.

Xiao Jie was appointed deputy secretary-general of the State Council, and Chen Xiaodong was appointed assistant foreign minister. Du Yongsheng was removed from his post as deputy head of the National Administration for the Protection of State Secrets.
