HONG KONG, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Holdings Co., Ltd. (CAS Holdings) signed here Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on a cooperation framework to foster green technology development.
The signing ceremony was held at the "Forum on Technology and Innovation for One Belt One Road and Greater Bay Area Development" co-organized by HKSTP and CAS Holdings, with the aim to drive the creation of an international innovation and technology hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Through establishment of a laboratory, both parties will work together to create new platforms for international exchange, R&D and technology transfer, capital investment and talent development.
Key areas and projects of the partnership will focus on bio-tech, artificial intelligence, fin-tech, new energy and new materials, among others.
Under the MoU, CAS Holdings will consolidate the research resources of Chinese Academy of Science to recommend start-ups and enterprises with high potential to set up operations in Hong Kong Science Park.
HKSTP and CAS Holdings hope to expedite the transfer and commercialization of the new technologies and solutions, further strengthen the development of green-tech and create new opportunities for continuous economic growth.
