ISLAMABAD, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Friday condemned the latest ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia by the Yemen's Shiite Houthi rebels.

Houthis reportedly fired a long-range ballistic missile on Thursday, the second such attack in a month.

Reports said Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed the missile fired on the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.

"The government of Pakistan expresses grave concern at reports of the second ballistic missile attack on the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," a Foreign Ministry statement said.

"It (Pakistan) strongly condemns the attack and commends the timely action by Saudi forces to destroy the missile preventing any loss of lives," the statement said.

It said that Pakistan reiterates its full support and solidarity with the government and brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.

"It voices its condemnation of any threats aimed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It demands the anti-government forces in Yemen to desist from attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," the statement said.
