HANGZHOU, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has stressed the study and publicity of the Red Boat Spirit to motivate cadres and the masses to make unremitting efforts in fulfilling the tasks set by the 19th CPC National Congress.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a symposium on the Red Boat Spirit, held in Jiaxing in east China's Zhejiang Province on Monday.

Wang called for strengthening theoretical study and increasing publicity of the Red Boat Spirit and other revolutionary spirit, and educating the people with the spirit and guiding them with the spirit in practice.

Huang Kunming, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the symposium.

Prior to the meeting, attendees visited a replica of the boat, now referred to as the Red Boat, on which CPC founders convened a historic meeting in 1921.
