JOHANNESBURG, April 27 (Xinhua) -- South African Airways (SAA) said Thursday that all its flights are operating normally after a strike by cabin crew.
On Wednesday, about 200 crew members went on strike, demanding an increase in their international meal allowance. The national airliner approached the Labor Court, which interdicted the crew members from striking and instructed them to return to work immediately.
SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali confirmed that crew members resumed wok on Thursday.
"Our planned flight schedules have resumed and whilst operations are geared to full service recovery, we remain exposed to minimal operational delays," Tlali said.
He said ticketed customers whose flights were cancelled on Wednesday will be supported to travel on Thursday.
The SAA Board of Directors will engage South African Cabin Crew Association over the next two months over the allowance dispute, the spokesman said, expressing optimism that an amicable agreement will be reached. He also stressed the airline's commitment to protecting its financial sustainability.
