Chinese naval fleet conducts first resupply mission in western Pacific

WESTERN PACIFIC, April 28 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese naval fleet on Friday conducted its first resupply mission in western Pacific waters.

On Friday morning, supply ship Chaohu successfully conducted fuel resupply to missile destroyer Changchun and liquid supply to missile frigate Jingzhou.

Chaohu Captain Zhou Baojun told Xinhua that, this time the three ships conducted transverse replenishment during sailing, a more complex type among the three types of replenishment, which are transverse, longitudinal, and vertical.

After two hours of resupply, the Chinese naval fleet continued to sail to its destination.

The fleet left Shanghai on Sunday morning for public relations visits to more than 20 countries.
