TRIPOLI, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Brother and father of the Manchester bomber were arrested in Tripoli, a security source told Xinhua.
"Rada security forces arrested Ramadan Abedi, Salman Abedi's father, from his home in Tripoli a day after arresting Salman's younger brother, Hashem Abedi," said the source. "They were arrested on suspicion of links to IS."
"I do not think the security authorities will do this. Hashim Abedi is currently being investigated for information associated with the attack or plans to carry out terrorist attacks in Europe or Libya," the source said regarding the possibility of extradition to Britain.
The British city of Manchester has witnessed a bloody attack on a concert hall on Monday, killing 22 people and injuring more than 100.
Ramadan Abedi refused to accuse his 22-year-old son of carrying out the bloody attack, insisting that his son is "religious but does not carry extremist ideas".
The father said that his son Salman made frequent trips to Libya to visit the family.
